Grounding is a way for us to come back into the present moment, this can help us mange stress, anxiety and overwhelm.

Grounding is a way for us to rebuild our energy, this can help when we are feeling burnt our or ready to loose our cool.

Grounding is a way for us to get back in touch with ourselves, this can help us to strengthen our intuition and build self trust and confidence.

Grounding is a way for us reconnect with the earth and the natural world, this can help us to generate feelings of support and hope in times of uncertainty and change.

Grounding is a way for us to come back into relationships with ourselves so that we can stand up for what is right and speak our truth.

What is 21 days of grounding???

Over 21 days I will share tips and techniques with you on how to get grounded so that you can manage feelings of overwhelm and stress and reconnect with your inner self, your inner power and take a stand for what you believe in.

In a world saturated with information, and swimming with hardship, getting grounded can give us the footing to face forward and take action in the direction of our truth.

Too often overwhelm leads to apathy or numbing. Stress compounds and we move into survival mode. Fear takes over and immobilizes us. Hopelessness overshadows any possibility for change. And we are left feeling helpless.

But we came here for a reason. And we are more powerful then we have been lead to belive.

When we get grounded we are able to reconnect with our inner truth and power. We are able to reattune to the natural world.

When we have firmly planted roots and an unshakable sense of self, we are able to advocate for ourselves and for what we believe.

We are able to speak our truth unapologetically.

We are able to stand up for what we believe in, regardless of the backlash.

When we learn how to get grounded in the the moment, we can build our capacity to face whatever comes our way.

Too often in our world we take action from an ungrounded space and then are left feeling overwhelmed or burnt out when shit hits the fan.

Day 1: Breath Deep

Take some time today to just breathe.

Take a breath in…
🌬🫁 fill your body,
create space within
Let that breath out
fully 💨💨💨
🌬Breathe in again…
💨then let it out💨
♾Repeat as many times as feels good♾

It can be that simple.
Really. It can be as simple as breathing.

Often when we feel stressed overwhelmed or anxious we unconsciously hold our breath. We take very shallow breaths or no breaths at all.

We forget to breathe. And we often don’t
even realize our bodies are constricted & tight.

We end up living from this place, tightness & constriction becomes normal.

((💨take another breath in & out💨))

When we bring our attention to our breath we take ourselves out of our thinking minds (where stress/worry/anxiety get their fuel) and into our bodies & the present moment (where our power lives).

Our breath literally creates space within us. It calls life force into our bodies and sends life force back out to the world.

((It connects us with the cycles of giving and receiving, it connects us with all of life!!))

Our breath grounds us in our bodies.

Our breath grounds us in the now.

Give yourself space and permission to breathe today.

You are worth it!!!

(And if someone asks what you’re doing, tell them and invite them to join you. It can be fun to breathe together)

Day 2: Send your energy down into the ground.

To often in our world we hold all our energy in our minds, our mental body. This hyperactive mental energy can lead to heightened feelings of anxiety, worry and stress. Since our minds can time travel and create all sorts of alternant universes in which the worst case rules.

When we drop our energy down, and root into the earth, we can give our minds some space as we send some of the static and frantic energy to the earth (which has the power to transmute that energy).

When we send our energy into the earth and reconnection with this planet, we give ourselves a firmly rooted base and then we are less easily swayed by the storms.

By allowing the earth and our lower half to support us, we can create space in our bodies to feel supported and at peace in the present moment.

As we amplify our firm roots and let our energy drop down, we can, even momentarily, let go of our worries around the nebulous and uncontrollable future.

🌲✨🌳🌲✨🌳🌲✨🌲🌳
Use you imagination and conscious mind to drop your energy down into the earth, feel yourself connected to the earth, send all your mental chatter down into the earth, let your roots grow and extend.

Do this anytime you feel yourself swept away about worries or fears. It may not make them dissolve but it may give you the firmly rooted courage to stand tall in the face of your worries and fears.

Root down into the ground.
And the rise up.
And stand for what you believe in.

Day 3: Observe the World Around You.

Give yourself time to feel awe at the beauty that surrounds us.

Too often in this fast paced, productivity focused capitalist society we rush from one task to the next, one appointment to the next, never giving ourselves time to observe the world around us.

In our rush to get where we‘re going, we miss the splendor that surrounds us.

Even when we are not rushing, we are staring at our screens, absorbed in our devices that transport us to other places and other moments in time and then we’re completely unaware of the beauty that surrounds us in our physical space.

We do not really see what is around us.

Sometimes this is because we do not like what we see, but we can never change what we do not look at.

Sometimes this is because tunnel vision feels safer when we are overwhelmed. And I get that, however living in tunnel vision limits our creativity and our ability to stench in to the inifinate possibilities.

In the tradition of Somatic Experiencing, one of the techniques for generating feelings of safety in our bodies and nervous systems in to observe our external environment. This act of observing lets our bodies land in space, it gives our nervous systems an ability to ground into our physical space.

Observing where we are helps us not only generate feelings of safety (because we have a sense of where we are) but it also connects us with the physical, tangible, natural world that we are a part of.

This act of connecting with and witnessing our environment is inherently grounding.

The next time that you go on a walk, look out the window, have a break from work, or wait in line take some time to look around you.

Really see what is happening around you.

As you observe, give yourself permission to pause or focus on things that make you feel joy or pleasure in your body.

Let yourself see the world you live in.

Become aware of what is happening around you.

Watch.
Witness.
And if you can, let yourself feel amazed at what you see.

(( Use your discernment here. If you find this is bringing up some feelings of anxiety, stop and come back to this at a different time or try using this as a mindfulness practice of “nonattachment” — witnessing without attaching stories or meanings to what you see.

If you find you do not like what you see, notice and mark that since that is wisdom speaking to you from within— we cannot change that which we do not allow ourselves to see. If we do not give ourselves space to determine what we don’t want, we may unintentionally continue to generate that in our lives. Noticing what does not feel good is valuable wisdom —Just like noticing what does feel good.

And if you can, continue to observe, there might be a sliver of joy beneath the surface))

Open your eyes and observe.
Call upon curiosity and awe.
Land in the physical shape where you are.

When we bring our attention to a observing our physical environments, we bring ourselves out the mental realm where worries and anxiety take shape and into our physical space, where our present moment power lives.

it can be that simple.

Too often our minds want to overcomplicate things. Writing off simple practices as “trivial”. But it is often the simple practices that are the most profound.

Getting grounded can be as simple as breathing, observing the world, and taking a few moments to drop your energy down from your mind.
